our lilacs are always late bloomers because they are the miniature variety, i forget the exact name, and they only get afternoon sun. i wish i had a smell-o-puter so i could share their lovely fragrance with you. it's a beautiful sunny day today so i chopped some off the bushes to bring inside.
yesterday was quite productive for me. i did laundry, dishes, packing, cleaning, sorting, and other prep work for my summer away. right now i'm looking at a pair of purple finches and a morning dove sitting on my deck. it reminded me of my visit with my grandparents this past friday. we sat on their patio and saw gold finches, purple finches, cardinals, orioles, and another red bird that i didn't know what it was.

ReplyDeletemine too! they trick me every year into thinking i've missed out on lilac season, only to be greeted by that great scent after everyone else's bushes have stopped blooming!
