spring!
went out and found spring today. it was beautiful outside. i love all the spring colors. the grass turned green over the weekend from the warm temps and rain. i'm loving the pretty bokeh from the new 24-70 lens :)
i've decided if i ever have a house that requires painting i'm going to paint it this color blue, with white trim. i love the colors in this photo, the blue house, white trim, yellow forsythia, grass green, and pink magnolias. i may just use this color palette for a new quilt.
and happy bench monday!

happy easter
hope you had a good easter weekend. we spent time with family, went on a bike ride (in 20 mph wind) and interupted another family's easter celebration so i could take this photo of their beautiful clydesdale, rose. doesn't she have the greatest red barn home? she lives next door to goats and chickens :)

easter bunny
here's what you need to make this cute little bunny pick:
-felt
-bunny pattern
-pinking scissors
-embroidery floss
-dowel rod
-needle
-pom pom
-stuffing
cut out (2) bunny shapes with pinking scissors.
embroider a face on one bunny shape. sew shapes wrong-sides together, leave opening at bottom.
stuff bunny with polyfill.
insert dowel rod in bottom, hand stitch closed.
sew pom pom on back for tail.
enjoy!

weekending
this weekend went by fast. i can't believe that march is almost over and that easter is next weekend. went out to a small town near a state park this saturday to drop off kayakers and then meet them down-river with a picnic lunch. unfortunately our plans were a little bit foiled by a closed road - we ended up carrying the boats for about 1/2 mile. i took a few photos near the put-in point of this old train caboose. i'm also enjoying messing around in black & white.
how fun is this?
i would like one of these, but i'm not sure what i'd put in it.
i wish my caboose photos turned out as pretty as this.
i think i'll try this recipe (or something like it) sometime this spring.
great songs like this make me want to bust out of the 'burbs.
the price is going down but this is still not affordable.
