holy mac n' cheese

not much happened around here today. tried a new hairstyle. typically i'm a plain ponytail gal. went with the 'messy' look and added a little ribbon. made mac n' cheese for supper tonight. the hubby's been sick so i've been making comfort foods all week (creamy chicken noodles, pepperoni-orzo soup, etc...).

here's the recipe:

mom's mac n' cheese
1.5 cups elbow noodles
3-4 slices american cheese
2x's cheddar cheese (slices or shredded)
salt & pepper
milk

boil noodles for 8 minutes. layer in oven-safe casserole: noodles, cheddar, s&p, noodles, american, s&p, noodles, cheddar, s&p. fill casserole with milk 2/3 full. bake at 350 for 40-50 min.

also, realizing why 'pro' on flickr is so very popular. i'm 50% full of my free storage and it's only the 3rd. hmmm, i'll deal with that when i get to it. i think it might be the tutorial photos.

remember this link i shared with you on saturday? well, i just couldn't get it out of my head. such a simple idea that looks great and is festive for this time of year. because i don't read comic books i needed another medium. i had some old cooking magazines so i decided on a color scheme and ripped out pages that followed suit.

being the well behaved unemployed person that i am, i knew i would need to create my own instead of splurging on the beautiful etsy version. and for any of you who are on a budget i'm going to make a tutorial and stick it over there, ---> in my sidebar, later today.

monday, monday...

just another monday around here. remember these cute little flowers i made? well, i stole one from my bag to add to my hair today. :) just felt like a little fancy something even though i sit around the house all day. i also spent sometime in the sewing room today. made another scarf, this one's for the shop (someday i'll get everything listed). and i messed around with the camera too. now that i've had a relaxing day of no puppies, it's time to get it in gear for the rest of the week.

the saturday tour

puppies are going home today. i wish it was more like ripping off a band-aid but the first little guy left at 9 and the last will go home at 2. there are just hours of waiting in between families.

made myself a little something today. a scarf from the softest, gray, 100% wool suiting. and a little moose attitude :)

messing around in photoshop. did you know you can add flare? i always thought that was an undesirable effect. hmmm?
