today is our 4 year anniversary! i can't believe it's already been 4 years. i remember everything about our wedding (unlike some people who say they don't remember anything). i loved our wedding and wouldn't change anything about it. almost everything was homemade - paperchains to decorate the front porch, waxpaper birdseed pouches, invitations, fans, table decorations, my mom even made my dress! we had our 15 minute ceremony at a little country chapel at 11a.m. and then a lunch reception following at a nearby community center. we served potato chips, italian beef, pulled pork, corn on the cob, and of course cake. we had about 85 guests attend.

we used tin cans and ball jars filled with goodies as table decorations. yes, we had checked picnic table cloths on all the tables. i carried a boquet, my sister (maid of honor) carried a boquet, and there were corsages for the mothers and grandmothers. the guys wore shirts and ties, no jackets (partly because we got married in an un-air-conditioned church in july, mostly because it was a casual wedding).

we even had tin cans on the back of our get-away car! and our cake topper was a pair of lions with tails entwined into a heart (we custom ordered it on ebay).

i keep a little collection of items and look through them sometimes. i made a little scrapbook of sorts as we were planning the wedding. i am also keeping a couple bridal magazines to show off someday when we celebrate our 50th anniversary - i'm sure the styles will have changed.
happy anniversary sweet potato, here's to another 70-or-so years!
